Creative Zen 20 GB Portable Media Center

Terrific product. I recently bought one on eBay and I love it. I read a lot of the reviews here to help make the decision and found them very helpful. It hooks up very easily with Windows Media Player and is simple to use. I tried out a lot of programs to transfer DVDs and I found the best one to be the CloneDVD Mobile program. I have been transferring a lot of my DVD collection to a format of 320x240 and vary the size of the file to around 700MB. I've also put a lot of the videos I have downloaded from the web on the the PMC. Like people have said, the best thing to do is just set it to transfer and just go to bed. I don't understand the complaint about it not having a kickstand for easier viewing, the carrying case can also double as a kickstand, so problem solved.

I highly recommend the PMC, after reading the reviews here, I was left unsure at just how good the picture quality was...would it be grainy? pixelated? not sharp enough? All my worries vanished when I watched the first video, amazing quality, crystal clear, sharp, and very impressive.

Do some research like I did, go to creative.com and look at the PMC, read reviews on this site or at CNET.com. CNET even has a video clip showing the PMC. PCWorld.com has some good reviews.

    If you are looking for something to throw in your purse, to have handy when needed, this item is great. The videos are surprisingly good. It looses some of the quality if you are shooting at a distance but for close up it works well. The charging and downloading is a piece of cake. I don't even use my other video player anymore because this is so easy to use. I would definitely recommend it, great price too!!!!

    I'll recomend this card if you just want a 16 bit sound card. what you'll miss is the 1024 midi voices that a SBlive has... but if your goal is not to play midi music then buy this. You'll get a 32 voices polyphony soundcard with multitilmbral capabilities! as the original Ensoniq, this should be the choice of anyone that wants to make music with trackers. You'll be able to mix 32 digital channels without losing quality as in other soundtracks. To give you an example, how many times did windows told you that another app is using your sound card?     Ensoniq and Microsoft Sidewinder 3d Pro issues
    Great audio card - however I have the misfortune to find out that this card does not work correctly with the non-usb Sidewinder 3D Pro. ...Installing the DirectX 8.1b, Lastest Sound Card Drivers, and Sidewinder 3.02 drivers doesn't help. The controller is listed as not-connected. You can use it in analog mode, but you loose much functionality....


    Works great in Linux!
    This card came with my Dell, but I'm going to buy another one for another computer with a proprietary unsupported card. This card works great in all situations, from listening to music to playing games. This big advantage (for me) is that it works great in Linux, which is why I'm buying another one.


    Easy to Use and Outstanding Quality for this Win 98 User
    Installed and got up and working in less than 20 minutes. Markedly better than the old "came with the system" soundcard. Has no trouble playing other sounds while you're listening to music (a big problem with my other card. Highly recommended.


    Good value card
    I build computer systems for sale, and use this in all of my lower end systems. The driver setup is simple and straight forward, and I have had no trouble with any of the cards I have purchased. It is a great bargain for people who don't need any advanced features but still want quality stereo sound.

    I have used Creative MUVO for many years and this paricular item style is my favorite. I am addicte4d to [...] books and use the MUVO to listen to them. It is extremely light and portable, hooks up to my tape deck to play in the car and travels on planes or n walks quite easily. It takes 1 AAA battery which is also readily transported so that I never find myself without battery. The only downside is that there is no scale to determine where you are on the device, i.e. which book of several or which page of the book. Nonetheless, it's well worth the most reasonable price and I have replaced it several times over the years and have given it for gifts. My iPod stays at home in its drawer as I far prefer the tiny little MUVO>

    Excellent MP3 Player
    This player is very convenient and easy to use. It is very small and takes 1 battery which makes portability (even to the beach) a breeze.     I like this product alot even though I bought it a while back and have since purchased a MAC computer. Now I cannot download to this mp3 player. I bought myself an ipod shuffle (loving it) and my son is enjoying this mp3 now. Very simple to use. Enough storage capacity for my son, but you might want to up the mbs if you like to store alot of music. I used it for file storage as well. Never had a problem.

    yea it goes up and down when I barely touch it but I still gave it a 4/5 stars because it gave me good sound and my younger was like I want that so when he gruduated he had a bunch of money and went to buy some of his but I think my is better but I set my to when I like it I just turn the bass up and down; I never use the switch anymore I turn it down with my computer so yea...And when people come over and trying to turn it up I will go crazy because they touch my volume nob, so now there is a sign near it -DO NOT TOUCH- lol

    I cant believe that I have never written anything on here for the MuVo Slim. I got it back in early 2005 when it was came out with a great review in one of the computer magazines. At that time it was somewhere around almost 0 for a HUGE 256mb player that was smaller in size (not mb)than most other players and I didnt want to pay almost 0 for the 512mb. It is about 1/4" thick and is the size of a creditcard in width and height. I was shocked when I saw it was only on here now. Honestly I cant give it 5 stars as much as I want to only because I dont like the software that comes with it. The software is hard to manage and work with. The MuVo works much better ripping with the Windows Media Player than its own organizer. I agree with some that say that 256mb is not much these days. But a couple years ago it was a big deal. Digital technology changes a lot fast. I've had to make my own case for it because unless you have an IPod or one of the others, there isnt a case that clips onto your belt or pants. The earbuds were replaced with a great sounding over-the-earbuds that stayed on. The battery life is INCREDIBLE! I picked it up again after not using it for almost 5 months and it was still over 1/2 charged. Ripping takes only minutes, it takes longer to choose the songs I want on it than it does to rip onto it, and I can get 95 songs on it. sure not a huge number compared to the players now, but it suits me. If you want more songs get the 512mb or if they ever come out with the 1G. My MuVo has stood up to walks in heatwaves to icychills, and yep I have dropped it more times than I care to admit. So its not the most popular mp3 player (ipod) but it is durable, has great sound, and if and when my MuVo goes out I'll buy another one (larger mb next time tho ).

    this camera works very well and have a lot of great features, also it include microphone and auricular for voip.
    the only thing is that for 640x480 does not give 30fps (just 15fps), just for resolutions equal or bellow 320x240 give 30fps capability, however is reasonable because of the price.
    Other thing that I was amazed is that it works pretty well on my XP virtual machine running on vista, I will try to run it on my virtual box for ubuntu 9.04.

    by the way thanks to the vendor for the great price, I bought it used at a incredible price and it was like new with all the stuff included.

    For the price, this camera is pretty good. It does the job. Only problem is that one can't attach it to the monitor. It needs to be place on a flat surface. It's good for someone who needs a basic no-frills webcam.

    I did install the creative software because it has some good tools including motion activated alerts for monitoring and face tracking technology.

    It also comes with a head set that has the same earphone distributed with the Zen product line. The microphone quality is much better than I expected. It has good noise cancellation control and is very clear.

    The video capture and editing works well also.

    It worked seamlessly with Skype, MSN and Yahoo for video chats also.

    Awesome
    I got this webcam for my 14 year old daughter for Christmas to use on Bebo. She say's it is awesome and she is really having lot's of fun with the special affects. I would highly recommend this product.
    Setup took a while but no glitches.


    this webcam is easy and has great quality!
    I was very happy with this creative webcam. It works very well with my windows xp. Very easy to manipulate. The photo manager it came with is pretty neat too. I use it instead of regular windows explorer viewing.

    Creative Labs Vado HD 4GB Pocket Video Camcorder 2nd Generation (Black Gloss)

    the Vado HD itself is surprisingly light, even with the battery inserted!
    (when inserting the battery, the side with information goes up)
    the controls are simple and easy to use.
    but it also lacks different options when taking a video, besides the three video qualities (HD+, HD, VGA).
    video quality is great, but I haven't owned any other ultra portable video camcorder.



    ***AUDIO SYNC ISSUE (and my fix)

    the audio/video sync issue many people experience can be solved by watching the video on a higher spec computer.
    Or you can try getting a better codec for your own computer
    (which you should, as HD videos are becoming more and more common) as i did.

    my specs are
    AMD Athlon x2 Dual-Core QL-64 2.10Ghz
    2gb of DDR2 RAM
    Radeon 3100 with shared memory
    32-bit Win7
    used GOM player to view recorded videos

    i recorded a clip of my girlfriend brushing her teeth (~30 sec),
    connected the Vado to my laptop, and watched the video.
    I did not notice any audio sync problems, but it was a very short video.
    Then I proceeded to test the Vado Central software, which wanted me to install a codec.
    Then later when i watched the video again, (not with Vado Central, I used GOM player)
    I noticed significant audio sync issue!
    So i uninstalled the codec Vado Central gave me, then installed CoreAVC,
    changed GOM player setting to not use internal codec so that it will use CoreAVC,
    and my video was in perfect sync again.

    so if you encounter this sync issue, try finding a better codec (h.264) before you throw away your old computer.
    (I think the codec that Vado Central wants you to install isn't very efficient...)

    Great video quality for youtube and the web
    It is great for all the youtube and web recordings.

    the cons: there is no image stabilization so the video can get shaky

    I used final cut pro to edit the videos as iMovie wasn't able to. I imported them using iPhoto.


    Good buy
    it is a good one., shoots decent video. Such a Tiny camcorder shooting this decent pictures is unbelievable. It's just very handy easy to use, easy to upload videos. Good buy on overall.


    Flipped for joy
    This was my first flip camera. The ease of use and comfort are an easy winner for any video that captures the moment. The video results are more than I expected . I liked the software from Vado to make slideshows and snapshots. When a neighbor wanted to send a video clip for an anniversary , I first chose my "old" device , which seemed to be more appropriate. But, the flip came to he rescue and delivered a gem . Moments later , the neighbor wanted one ,too , which will capture her children in sporting events.
    The Creative model suits all my purposes . The controls are easy to use , even with the enclosed pliable cover. And, under 15 minutes , I had the videos online to share with friends and family. Now, that is a measure of success well over my older video cam . The difference is a cumbersome carry case versus a Flip that can be easily placed in a jeans pocket for instant usage. The only negative was that I purchased this from Amazon and today I found that its 40 dollars cheaper on Ecost , and not refurbished . With that thought , I'm buying another one for my Family.
